I Want to be a Lichtenstein

This series, begun in 2007, is inspired by Roy Lichtenstein’s iconic Pop Art imagery and visual language. Using his recognizable style as a starting point, I reimagine these works through the lens of my own experiences, replacing his characters with myself and people from my life through acrylic paintings.

The ongoing project reflects my belief that art is always shaped by the viewer’s perspective and personal history. By inserting my own narrative into familiar imagery, the work becomes both an homage and a reinterpretation, exploring how meaning shifts when iconic art is filtered through individual experience and memory.
